Wiring, Electricity, Sensors and Teleporters

Discover the exciting world of logic and electronics in No Man's Sky with our beginner-friendly course! This tutorial covers the fundamentals

Starter Pack

Producing Energy

Connect your battery to solar panels, carbon generator, or electromagnetic generator

The best ratio is 2:1, 2 solar panels for 1 battery. The Day is usually around 15min, same for the Night, when the panels don't produce.

The portal, the light boxes and light panels are the most power hungry

Connecting the wires

You can connect up to 10 wires to the same node.
There is no limit to number of connections in a chain.
The wire have length limit : you simply have to connect a new wire if you reach it.

The best practice is to build a readable circuit from left to right.

The wires can be glitch to different sizes. It's useful if you use your wires as decoration :

yes, it's a crashed red royal ship :) waiting for you at the School

You can show or hide the wires with the Electrical Cloaking Unit :

Connecting appliances

just connect wires one after another

Connecting lamps and lights

just connect together the lighting fixtures

Powering the Ceiling Light

yes, you can connect the ceiling light !

First way is to perfectly centre a wire (big ceiling light),
or to connect a lamp behind the wall (small ceiling light)

Teleporters

In multiplayer, you can see the player travel from one another

Two-Way teleporters (both are on)

One-Way Teleporter (one is on, the other is off)

Proximity Switch

The Proximity Sensor detect anything in a sphere (∅ 3 floors) around it : the radius is 1 large floor and 1 small floor (1,5). It will stay on until you leave the area

Pressure Switch

The pressure sensor activate when you walk on it, and stay on until you step down. It have a active area of 1  x 1  x 1  floor, or 1 floor ³ :) Never think before I'll ever make measurements in "floor unit"
